Local CFP® and Intel Chandler Alum Hosting Free Financial Planning Workshops

Because of August layoffs at Intel in Chandler, and news of more on the horizon, Brad Wilson, CFP® is offering two free financial planning workshops in October. His career in finance began as a registered representative with an independent firm, eventually leading him to establish his own practice. In 2000, Wilson made a career shift and joined Intel, working in various roles including business analyst.

In 2024, Intel received $8.5 billion from the Biden administration to invest in their U.S. facilities, which was projected to create 9,000 jobs in Arizona. However, a few months later the company announced it would cut 15 percent of its workforce. Eligible employees at the Chandler operation were offered an “enhanced retirement offering” for voluntary departures, and Wilson took advantage of the opportunity.

“My time at Intel was valuable,” he said. “But the rewarding experience of helping individuals prepare financially and transform their lives brought me back to my financial planning roots.”

Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University, as well as the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification from CFP Board. He joined Perspective Financial Services in January 2025. The Phoenix-based firm is a team of eight founded in 2003 by Mike McCann, CFP®, AIF®.

Wilson understands that money management after a job loss or career change can be daunting; and he’s committed to educating people about the importance of financial preparedness and the rewarding path to financial freedom. While he developed the workshop content with Intel alumni in mind, anyone with concerns about layoffs or thoughts of a career change is welcome to attend one of the workshop sessions.
