Jim Mailliard serves high net-worth and affluent clients through design, implementation, and monitoring of diversified investment portfolios.
Prior to joining Perspective Financial Services in 2007, he worked in a variety of financial planning, investment advisory, and management roles for J.P. Morgan Private Client Services, Miller/Russell and Associates, Ernst & Young, and KPMG.
Jim earned an undergraduate degree with honors in engineering from Iowa State University. Following college, Jim worked for a large consulting firm in Chicago for a few years. He then decided to pursue graduate studies and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and investments from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. After spending time in the world of corporate finance with an international energy company, Jim found his ultimate career calling – he has been an investment advisor and personal financial planner for 30 years.
Since 2018, Jim has been active with Westminster Village, Inc., Scottsdale's only not-for-profit continuing-care retirement community. He is currently a Westminster Village Board of Directors officer with the position of treasurer. He serves as chairman of the finance committee, which includes oversight of the investment committee.
Fitness and health are important to Jim, and hot yoga is one way he devotes time to these priorities each day.
"It’s invigorating and physically challenging. It helps me feel good about myself,” he said. “I’m not patient enough to do it on my own, so I go to formal classes. I’ve never aspired to be a yoga instructor, but I can see how being a financial advisor is similar in terms of helping clients make positive change in their lives.”
