Mike Larriva began his financial planning career in 1994. He has focused on developing a financial consulting practice aimed at helping individuals, retirees, widows, and small business owners with their financial planning and investment needs. He has advanced knowledge and expertise in financial planning concepts, investment vehicles, retirement and estate planning, and tax strategies.
Mike believes one of the keys to client success is understanding client goals and receiving objective advice. That comes from in-depth conversations with their advisor about their unique situation and developing a strategy to meet those needs. He shares his insights on planning, saving, investing, and giving back.
“One of the things I often tell clients and prospective clients is the idea of thankfulness, or having an attitude of gratitude,” Mike said. “That idea came to me from my dad and my grandfather. There was some quiet modeling going on. I didn’t really think about it growing up, but a lot of it comes down to working hard, being a good steward of what you have, taking care of your family, and helping other people when you can.”
Mike has earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University in California, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. He joined Perspective Financial Services in 2007. Prior to that, Mike worked with Ives Asset Management, Finance 500 Advisory Services, and Wealth Accumulation Limited in Phoenix.
He and his wife, Stefanie, have a son who graduated from Grand Canyon University and a daughter who graduated from Arizona State University. In their free time they enjoy traveling, GCU basketball games, and ASU Gammage theater season tickets.
