Mike McCann has worked in the financial services industry since 1991, interacting directly with individuals as a financial planner and investment advisor, as well as behind-the-scenes in high-level trading and managerial positions. He founded Perspective Financial Services in 2003.
He prides himself on developing mutually-beneficial, ongoing relationships with his clients, whether they are young, novice investors or more seasoned individuals with sizeable portfolios. Mike has advised a diverse group of individuals with a wide range of portfolios – from conservative to aggressive and all points in-between. He has advanced knowledge and expertise in financial planning concepts, investment vehicles, retirement and estate planning, and tax strategies. Perhaps his greatest strength, though, is his ability to listen and relate to his clients, understanding their unique needs and developing an investment strategy that meets those needs.
Mike has walked along side clients through the many ups and downs of life. He has celebrated their marriages, promotions, dream vacations, home purchases, and birth of children. He has grieved with them through layoffs, illnesses, divorces, and loss of loved ones. It’s a job he finds extremely rewarding, though the responsibility can also be intense and emotionally taxing.
“I like to get out and hike as much as I can, whether it’s just around town or when I travel to explore new places,” Mike shared his favorite way to relieve stress. Keeping active enables him to run a demanding, complex company and best serve his clients. “I find that the harder I push myself physically, the more likely I am to free my mind and clear myself of worries.”
Prior to forming his Registered Investment Advisory firm, Mike worked several years with Charles Schwab & Co. and IDS Financial Services. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University, the Certified Financial Planner™ designation from CFP Board, and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies.
